This video makes my all-things-anthropomorphic-loving heart go beep beep. Somewhere, my plastic Hawaiian lei (just in case) is strangling my black feather boa (prom ‘97) as my moldy, stinky volleyball knee pads (you never know) and Groucho Marx costume (duh) look on. (Via Etsy.)

On Saturday, July 17, Long Beach’s Summer and Music fest hosted the Church of Rock & Roll, a Last Waltz-style event in which musicians rotated on and off stage to play some Summer of Love favorites for the crowd (mostly of the Harvest variety). Normally, this kind of display would offend MFLB’s anti-boomer mentality, but Micah Panzich of the Paperplanes capped his three-song set with such a pang-inducing rendition of “Runnin’ on Empty” that all mistrust melted away.
